  3. Add the broccoli rape and fava beans into the pan and stir until well incorporated. When your pasta will be cooked (al dente!) with the slotted spoon add your pasta to the pan with broccoli and fava bean mixture
  4. Mix well, add half cup pasta water and keep mixing on a high heat for about a minute. Shut off the heat and add Parmesan cheese and extra olive oil. Mix well and serve.

I've been dreaming about that pasta ever since and waiting for the fava beans to arrive here. Finally, they appeared at the farmers market the other day…so exciting! Note: You can use canned fava beans if fresh are not in season. If you do use from a can, then you can add garlic, beans, and tomatoes in at the same time. Add pasta to the sauce and combine well.
